The
'd' can also have two separate sounds: hard and soft.
At the beginning of
a word and after 'n' or 'l', the hard Spanish 'd' is almost like the
'd' in the word 'do.' You have to try to touch the back of the front
teeth with your tongue when pronouncing the hard Spanish 'd'.
In
the other cases (e.g.: between
vowels) the 'd' is soft, more like the 'th' sound in the word
'these'.
