My 5 points of advice for Spanish courses online

Many have asked me to help them find the best Spanish courses online. Needless to say, there are so many online courses, that it is often difficult to tell the good ones from the bad ones. If you do a quick search on Google, you will find that thousands of so called courses are available. Many of them outdated, many just not very good. Some of them are clearly “learn Spanish in X Days” scheems that won’t work. Don’t let anyone fool you into thinking that you can learn Spanish in 10 days, or even 20 days for that matter.

Learning how to speak Spanish properly takes months, even if you spend time in a Spanish speaking country. So here is my little list of five things you should look out for:

1. Do not spend money on courses that pretend they will teach you Spanish in 10 days or similarly stupid claims. These courses are only after your money.

2. Look for courses that offer interaction in real Spanish. Spanish conversation classes for example are absolutely vital for anyone who is wanting to learn Spanish.

3. Do not invest into courses that promise a complete course, but cost less than $100. These courses can be a great starter, but mostly they are cheap because they are incomplete or do not offer all you need.

4. Look for a community. There is nothing worse than the feeling that you are learning Spanish on your own with your computer. If you want to succeed with learning Spanish, select those Spanish courses online where you are sure to be able to interact with other users.

5. Most importantly, look for the fun factor in your course. If you are not sure if a course will be fun, then you are already on the wrong track. You will never learn Spanish if it is not fun and if you will not have a good time. Only ever enroll in a course that will be FUN.
